In day you love, at night you war

In the daylight Oh Mother, you are love and you are light
But at night you transform into a medieval knight
Armoured with slippers, broom in your hand
Ready to conquer your rightful household land

When the Sun hides early (frankly it's scared)
To brace the heavy war, i must be prepared
I am not a kid who shall be scared of the dark
But mother you go full Jurassic Park

Mother, dear mother, your sleep doesn’t miss a cue
Your eyes sense everything – X ray vision too?
Even poor Coffee (our dog) knows to tread on soft paws
Cause you are basically running with martial law

At night dare i sneeze, Oh heavens please beware
Your slipper locks its target like a missile in the air
What dare sneeze while I shall sleep you roar with might
Just as you are establishing your queenly right
No science can cure your night time routine
Your fueled by pure rage – you do not need caffeine
We tiptoe around, mother we try to stay quiet
But oh no, I dropped a hair, there shall be riot

We try to chill, We try to relax
But the weight of your sleep hits harder than income tax
We play you a harp, We play you a flute
But you boot us to the lobby without dispute

Coffee’s hair on your holy floor?
The dyson makes it feel as if it is WW4
A single skittles, a minor mistake?
Mother you shall storm like Richter 11 earthquake

And oh how we dream to not make noise at bedtime

Mother, is that really a war like crime?
But dearest mother, God has gifted you with keen
For you hear ghosts tap dancing on the TV screen

One twitch from us, you are wide awake
Mother please understand there is a lot at stake
We’re scared to locomote, we are scared to breathe
For we see your scary words armed in your sheathe

Even dead bodies do not sleep as tight
As we do beside you, sweating in fright

You make the room comparable to the Thar (desert)
Even the moon melts although it is so very far

And yet we lie in wonder, for all this is true
But deep down mother
(No matter what company hires you for the incredible alarm systems you possess)
