A marigold was standing lone on a hill
Scraped of life, garbage thrown to still
Its petals they stepped turning grey in dim sky
Its green thin stem was bursting to cry
Big tall buildings looked like shards
Smoke and steam filled the air in lard
Dead bodies haunted the lifeless ground
Not a single animal was scavenging or be found
The coast was black with rot and soot
Waste dump cans were filled till the chute
Pollution ruled the kingdom of man
Coughing could be heard, alas! was the plan
The marigold saw all this
And started to sob
How beautiful the world used to be
But now it was a blob
It hugged itself just one last time
And started turning grey, slowly along the chime
Soon it was just a splatter of grey
The last trace of nature gone, everything full of dismay
The world used to be merry
The nature alive
But the greed of man
Aimed for this to thrive
Let’s take a pledge
That we never see this sight
I by all means will protect our mother nature
By doing all can to save her out of this plight
