Did you know that not everyone has a little voice in their head that talks to them? Some people do, and some people don’t ?and that’s totally okay!

When you try to meditate (like sit quietly and focus on your breathing), you might notice your mind doesn’t always want to stay still. It jumps around, showing pictures or videos in your head, or making you think in different languages if you know more than one. That voice in your head? That’s called inner speech.

But here’s the cool part: not everyone has that voice. Some people only “hear?their thoughts when they actually say them out loud. Scientists gave this way of thinking a name: anendophasia. There’s also something called aphantasia, where people don’t see pictures in their head at all ?like they don’t have a mind movie.

Just because someone doesn’t think the same way you do doesn’t mean something is wrong with them. It just means people’s brains work in different ways. That’s called diversity, and it makes the world more interesting!

Some people even think they don’t dream ?but that might just mean they don’t remember their dreams. There’s still a lot we’re learning about how our minds work.

In the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, two people try to erase sad memories of each other. The doctor says it’s like having a super forgetful night after staying up too late or maybe like after a big party. But even though they forget, they still feel like something’s missing.

So whether your brain talks a mile a minute or just feels like quiet space, it’s all part of what makes you you. Meditation might help calm things down, but no matter how your brain works ?you’re amazing just the way you are.
