Welcome back to another edition of My Take 5, your weekly round-up of top international news. It’s been all about Ukraine the past week with the war in that country homing in on the three-year mark. Shockingly for Ukrainians though, the US under Trump seems to be more interested in doing a “deal” with Putin’s Russia. Europe still, largely, stands behind Ukraine, as exemplified by the Baltics disconnecting their electricity grid with Russia. Taiwan is looking at the Ukraine situation warily given its own predicaments with China. Vietnam, however, is outfoxing Beijing in the South China Sea. And Brazil’s former president Bolsonaro is charged with attempted coup. So let’s get to it:
