According to police reports, the accused, Abhishek Parmar (19), was furious over his sister's marriage against family wishes. Both the victim and the accused are natives of Surendranagar district. Makwana worked as an auto-rickshaw driver and recently relocated to Ahmedabad with his wife, while Parmar, pursuing his third year BCom, moved to the city and was residing at his aunt's house.
Police investigation revealed that on Tuesday, Parmar invited his sister and her husband to the Lalakaka Hall area in Madhavpura, suggesting a family reconciliation. When the couple reached the location, he allegedly attacked Makwana with a knife multiple times, causing his death immediately as his sister watched.
Police said that the act appeared to be a pre-planned murder for revenge. "Parmar convinced his sister to arrange a meeting and subsequently killed her husband in front of her," said a police source from Madhavpura.
