Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal resigns as minister, CM Nitish Kumar to expand cabinet in evening

Bihar Revenue Minister and state BJP President Dilip Jaiswal has decided to resign from his ministerial post, adhering to the party's 'One person, one post' policy. He will continue as the state president of the BJP. This move could lead to changes in Bihar's cabinet and possibly an expansion before the state elections.

NEW DELHI: Bihar revenue minister and state BJP President Dilip Jaiswal announced on Wednesday that he will step down from his ministerial position, citing the party’s 'One person, one post' policy. However, he confirmed that he will continue as the party’s state president.
"I am going to resign from the post of Revenue Minister. 'One person, one post' is the principle on which the party works. I am thankful that the central leadership has given me the responsibility of the party's state unit," Jaiswal told ANI.
Jaiswal was appointed as the party’s state president on January 18. His resignation may pave the way for Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar to make changes to his cabinet, with a potential expansion likely ahead of the upcoming state elections.
When asked about reports of a cabinet expansion, Jaiswal said it is the "prerogative of CM."
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, urged the people of Bihar to support his father in the upcoming state elections, scheduled for later this year.
"I urge the people of Bihar to vote for Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as he has done a lot of development in the state. Last time people gave 43 seats. The public should ensure that we win more seats in the elections so that we can continue the pace of development," Nishant Kumar said.
He also encouraged Janata Dal (United) workers to spread awareness about the policies implemented by Nitish Kumar over the last 19 years.
"I also urge all the workers to take all the policies of Bihar CM among the people. The NDA should also announce that he (Nitish Kumar) is the CM face for the upcoming polls. The government should be formed again in Bihar under his leadership," he added.
