Firing at independent candidate's home in Maharashtra's Jalgaon

An independent candidate contesting in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections escaped an attempt on his life in Jalgaon city. In the early hours of Monday, an unidentified assailant fired three rounds at the residence of Sheikh Ahmed Hussain Gulam Hussain. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Police are currently investigating the incident and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator.

NEW DELHI: An unidentified individual fired shots at the residence of Sheikh Ahmed Hussain Gulam Hussain, an independent candidate in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. The incident occurred around 4 am on Monday in Jalgaon city.
Hussain's house, situated at Shera Naka, was targeted with three rounds of gunfire. Police confirmed that while no injuries were reported, the incident has raised concerns ahead of the November 20th polls.
"The incident took place at around 4 am and the police were scanning CCTV footage of the locality to establish the shooter's identity," a Jalgaon police official stated.
A case has been registered at the MIDC police station against the unidentified shooter under relevant sections of the Arms Act. Investigations are currently underway to apprehend the culprit.
