PUNE: The search proceedings in connection with senior Congress corporator Ulhas alias Aba Bagul are still continuing, said income tax (investigation) director, AJ Khan.
In an early morning raid on Wednesday, the sleuths from the directorate carried out a search operation on Bagul''s residential and business premises, following a complaint "from sources about alleged suppression of income".
Simultaneous search operations were also carried out on the premises of two city-based builders who have business interests with Bagul.
According to Khan, there was a preliminary check of the person searched and the cash and other valuables, besides property documents found during the process are being scrutinised. "We''ll be in a position to state whether there is concealment of income only after verification and examination of the person searched and his book of accounts," Khan said, however, adding that a case has not been registered so far.
Bagul had earlier termed the raids a political conspiracy planted by his rivals.
