NEW DELHI: Panic prevailed in an AC 2-tier coach of the Jharkhand to Goa Vasco-da-Gama Weekly Express train after passengers found a live snake lurking inside it.
Passengers spotted the snake near the curtains of a lower berth and recorded videos.
Following the commotion, the IRCTC staff responded and, with the help of a passenger, caught the snake using a bedsheet.
Last month, a similar incident was witnessed in JabalpurMumbai Garib Rath Express train after passengers spotted a snake inside an AC coach their journey.
The incident occurred while the train was en route to Mumbai. A video of the snake quickly went viral on social media platforms, showing the reptile hanging from the iron grip of a side berth, with passengers leaving their seats in alarm in G17 coach.
In July 2024, a snake was spotted on the side upper berth of an AC coach on the Gorakhpur-Bandra Terminus Weekly Express at Charbagh station in Lucknow division. That incident, too, had gone viral, showing the snake’s tail emerging from an opening in the coach roof.
