Percussionist
Bickram Ghosh is super excited about
Subhrajit Mitra’s ‘
Abhijatrik’ and said that he has composed the music of the film with utmost care and sincerity. Bickram said that the film is based on Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay’s cult character Apu and the story develops exactly where the
Satyajit Ray’s masterpiece Apu trilogy ended.
“It’s an excellent film with great concept and execution. This is exactly the kind of film I want to work on,” he added. Bickram is making the background score and also the film songs: “Set in the backdrop of 1940s it is period film and being made in black and white.”
Arjun Chakrabarty
will essay the iconic character Apu. In the film, Apu will relive his childhood through the eyes of his son, visiting Benaras and his village Nischindipur. Interestingly, Arjun’s father
Sabyasachi Chakraborty will be seen as Apu’s globetrotter friend.
Apart from Abhijatrik, Bickram recently finished working on
Arindam Sil’s ‘Maya Kumari’ which is a musical and has a total of 12 songs.
