Freida Pinto disappoints Indian brands at Cannes 2014!

Sonam Kapoor kept her word and after trumping a black Elie Saab gown, she went back to Anamika Khanna. Aishwarya has so far shown off her freshly minted svelte form in Cavalli gowns and Freida Pinto has stuck to what she does best sporting international designers who have never failed her on the red carpet.

However, this was not how it was supposed to play out. Pinto, to be honest does not really need to champion Indian designers but she did make an earnest effort to put together a look with desi designers and accessories for one of her photo sessions.She even spent days in the city putting together her look. But somehow it did not make the final cut, While we will never know what really made Freida change her mind, for the brands that were hoping for a spot of Cannes glory, it must have been a disappointment indeed. Better luck next time.
