Tom Hooper: Sensed gender fluidity in Redmayne

'The Danish Girl' director Tom Hooper says Eddie Redmayne is the right choice to play a transgender woman in the film because the filmmaker sensed a certain gender fluidity in the Oscar-winner and felt something in the actor was drawn to the feminine.

Hooper said he believes in the 33-year-old Theory of Everything actor's talent, reported Aceshowbiz.
"Eddie was really the person I wanted to make the film with, and I was very passionate about that.I was a great believer in him as an actor. I think also there's a certain gender fluidity that I sensed in him, that I found intriguing.
I felt that there was something in him that was drawn to the feminine," Hooper said.
The Danish Girl will hit limited theatres in the US starting November 27 after playing in film festivals this fall.
It is adapted from the real-life story of one of the first people who underwent sex reassignment surgery. Alicia Vikander, Amber Heard, and Ben Whishaw are among the cast members.
