Thangalaan, Mr Bachchan and Double ISMART take slow advance booking in the United States of America

Films like Kalki 2898 AD,Indian 2, Salaar-Part 1- Ceasefire and Baahubali 2- The Conclusion have proven that there is a market for regional films in the United States of America. Each of the mentioned films has taken a flying start at the box office and some have gone to dominate the circuit like Baahubali 2.


However, coming 15th August which is a big release day in India, the response to 2 big Telugu and 1 Tamil film hasn't exactly been great. Three films from the south industry releasing in the States are Vikram's Thangalaan, Ravi Teja’s Mr Bachchan and Ram Pothineni’s Double ISMART.


With just 2 days to release, Ram’s film which also co-stars Sanjay Dutt, has earned $18,287 from 80 Locations, while Ravi Teja’s Mr Bachchan which seems to be inspired by Ajay Devgn’s Raid has collected $17,274 from 53 Locations. The response to Telugu films are very underwhelming given that there are over 1 crore Telugu speakers in the state.
