When standup comedian-turned-actor Vir Das takes up a task, he wants to redefine the word ‘dedication’.
Atleast that’s how it would seem when told about what he’s been upto. Vir is presently working on Nikhil Advani’s next film as a writer, actor and co-producer. And the funny man has found a unique way to connect with the theme.

Being a coming-of-age film, Vir needed to get into the right space to write and so he decided to go back to school.

“I have 10 days on hand before I start shooting for 1984, the film on the Sikh riots, to finish the draft for Nikhil’s film. It’s set in a strict academic environment and is about old-world values and tradition,” he says, explaining his decision to re-visit his own school.

He took special permission to plonk himself on the last bench and attend lectures at The Lawrence School in Sanawar. “That’ll give me plenty of food for thought,” he points out, adding with a smirk. “Ï’ll have plenty of reading material when I’m in school next week,” he adds.
