Farah Khan reveals the spotboy fainted during Pooja Bedi’s 'Pehla Nasha' skirt flying moment, Calls her a poor dancer while recalling iconic ‘Pehla Nasha’ shoot
Farah Khan, along with her chef Dilip, recently paid a visit to the Mumbai apartment of Kabir Bedi’s daughter, actress Pooja Bedi, and his granddaughter Alaya F, which she featured in her latest vlog. Known for choreographing the legendary song ‘Pehla Nasha’ from the 1992 film 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar' starring Aamir Khan, Farah took her viewers on a nostalgic journey. During the vlog, they reminisced about funny behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot, especially the time when Pooja was trying to hold down her red dress while standing on a car. Farah also humorously compared Alaya’s talents to her mother’s, playfully teasing Pooja about her less-than-stellar dancing and stage presence.
Farah Praises Alaya’s Dancing, Teases Pooja
During the video, Farah chuckled as she praised Alaya’s impressive dancing skills while teasing Pooja about her lack of talent in that area. She remarked, “I’ve spent a lot of time trying to teach your mother how to dance. Now I’m curious-whose genes did you inherit? Because you’re an amazing dancer!”.
Infamous Red Skirt Incident Recalled
Pooja admitted that she picked up dancing gradually, saying, “Actually, I didn’t know how to dance at all. I have worked very hard on it, honestly.” Her mother quickly mimicked her early dance moves, bringing to mind a video from her very first dance lesson. Everyone burst out laughing at the sight of her clumsy steps and facial expressions. Farah then joked, “That’s exactly how you danced in Naam Hai Mera Fonseca”, referring to the song from Pooja’s movie 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar'.
The filmmaker brought up the famous red skirt incident from the movie while chatting with the mother and daughter. She turned to Alaya and said, “You know about the story when she stood on the car and the spot boys standing behind fainted? Vo peeche nahi the, neeche fan pakadke khade the.”
Pooja clarified the incident by saying, “He was not. They were standing way behind. What happened was that everytime that they would put this fan under me, I was trying very hard to hold my dress down, kyuki uddegi vo. I am standing and the fan was blowing, but nothing was happening. As soon as used to put my hands away from the skirt saying nothing is blowing, my dress would fly. When I held it down again, everyone was laughing because it was down from the front but flying from back.”
She continued, “That’s the time when a spot boy was standing at the back and I had a thong on.” Farah laughed and said, “That’s the first time I saw a thong, they were not very common those days.”
Comparing Alaya’s Calm Elegance to Pooja’s Liveliness
Farah lightheartedly teased Pooja Bedi while complimenting Alaya’s grace. She remarked, “I feel that Alaya is very elegant and calm. Even when I watch your red carpet appearances and interviews, there’s a very nice gentle and calm energy, especially if we compare to,” as she nodded in the direction of Pooja drawing a humorous comparison between the two.
