Six years later, on Wednesday, a senior citizen approached the actor outside a polling booth in Mumbai, informing him that the toilet had become completely rusted and requested a replacement. A video of the interaction has gone viral on social media.

In the video, a senior citizen is seen approaching Akshay Kumar and shaking hands with him. The man shared his concern, saying, “The toilet you installed is rusted. I’ve been maintaining it for the past four years.” A surprised Akshay responded, “Oh, you are? Okay, I’ll bring this up with the BMC.” The senior citizen then suggested, “You just donate the toilet, and I’ll handle the installation.” Laughing, Akshay replied, “I’ve already sponsored it. I’ll now ask the BMC to fix and maintain it.”

Akshay sponsored the mobile toilet months after his wife, Twinkle Khanna, tweeted about people openly defecating at Juhu beach. She posted a picture of a man defecating at Versova beach, captioning it, “Good morning and I guess here is the first scene of Toilet Ek Prem Katha part 2.”

Prashant Gaikwad, the municipal commissioner of K-ward, confirmed the news to PTI, stating, “We welcomed his initiative and installed the toilet near Juhu beach four days ago. The actor covered all the expenses, amounting to Rs 10 lakh, for setting up the portable toilet.”
