Karthik Raja turns emotional as he remembers his late sister Bhavatharini on her first death anniversary

On February 12, a special memorial event was held to mark the first death anniversary of renowned singer and composer Bhavatharini who is the daughter of legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja. During the emotional ceremony, Karthik Raja, her brother, recalled fond memories of Bhavatharini, shedding light on her early years. "She was born at Leelavathi Hospital, and I was the first to hold her in my arms," Karthik Raja reminisced, clearly moved. He fondly described how Bhavatharini and her brother Yuvan would always play together, enjoying their childhood days. Karthik Raja also spoke about the deep love and respect the Tamil people had for Bhavatharini. "When she passed away in Sri Lanka and we brought her back to Tamil Nadu, the Tamil community embraced her like one of their own. Their grief was unlike anything I have ever witnessed," he said, highlighting the bond she shared with her audience and the people of Tamil Nadu.
