Dragon - Official Trailer
Directed by
Ashwath Marimuthu, Dragon is a coming-of-age comedy-drama featuring Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role. The film also stars Anupama Parameswaran, George Maryan, Kayadu Lohar, and Gautham Vasudev Menon in pivotal roles. With high expectations surrounding the movie, the sudden online leak has come as a major setback for the team.
ETimes review for the film reads, “If you remember well enough, a lot of coincides, magic, and second chances happen in Oh My Kadavule, too but the actual change happens in the characters’ real life, where every action attracts an equal and opposite reaction. In fact, this angle - where the film wanders into even a dreamy land but doesn’t lose touch with reality - is what made OMK relatable, emotional, and special. Retaining the same essence, Ashwath Marimuthu’s second outing is also a fun, emotional, and fully charged ride.”
Meanwhile, piracy has been an issue in the Malayalam film industry as well. Recently the superhit films ‘Ponman’, ‘Sookshmadarshini’, Tovino Thomas starrer ‘ARM’ and many more were leaked online within hours of release. Also other language films such as ‘Game Changer’, ‘Pushpa 2’, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and many more had fallen prey to piracy online.
On the other hand, Pradeep Ranganathan’s previous film was the superhit romantic drama movie ‘Love Today’ which received immense love from the audiences. The movie was remade in Bollywood as ‘Loveyapa’ starring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor. Although ‘Loveyapa’ failed to create the magic of the original, the Bollywood film did well at the box office.
