Blue Origin, an aerospace company led by billionaire Jeff Bezos is all set to launch six women in a brief tourism flight to space. Find out more details about this mission below!
Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket will be marking its 11th human flight, NS-31, with an all-female crew. The spacecraft will leave Earth from Launch Site One in West Texas on April 14th, 2025. The 10-minute-long flight will be carrying six influential women above the Karman Line, the imaginary boundary between Earth and space.
Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, Gayle King, Katy Perry, Kerianne Flynn and Lauren Sanchez are the six women who will partake in this trip. But who are they?

Katy Perry

If there’s one name on the list that might have rang a bell instantly, it’s Katy Perry. Yes, the singer and philanthropist is one of the six women set to fly into space. As per reports, her participation in the mission is to inspire her daughter and others to reach for their dreams.

Lauren Sanchez

The next name you might have recognised is Lauren Sanchez. The 55-year-old American journalist and author, who is also Bezos’ fiancée and the Vice Chair of the Bezos Earth Fund, will be a part of the female team. Her goal is to inspire the next generation of explorers through her achievements in space and aviation.

Aisha Bowe

Bowe is a former NASA rocket scientist and entrepreneur who has worked over the years to promote STEM education. She is the CEO of STEMBoard, a technical advisory firm and the founder of LINGO, an edtech company. The Bahamian-American native wishes to inspire young people across the globe, especially in the Bahamas, with her journey from college to space.

Amanda Nguyen

On her website, Amanda Nguyen describes herself as an activist and astronaut. However, what she is most popular for is the drafting of the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Rights Act, a bill that was successfully passed by the United States Congress. By flying on NS-31, Nguyen will become the first Vietnamese woman to go to space.

Gayle King

Gayle King is a popular personality in America, being the broadcast journalist for CBS News and co-host of the morning program, CBS Mornings. She aims to step out of her comfort zone by joining this historic space mission, embracing new adventures and inspiring others to do the same.

Kerianne Flynn

Kerianne Flynn is an American film producer known for her contribution to several projects such as Lilly, This Changes Everything and The Automatic Hate. For her, this trip is an opportunity to inspire her son and future generations to pursue their passion.
