2 more GBS deaths, 1 each in Pune & Mumbai

The death toll from Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) in Maharashtra has reached nine, with Mumbai and Pune reporting their first and eighth fatalities respectively. The total number of cases has risen to 203. Assam and Tamil Nadu have each reported a GBS-related death, while two suspected fatalities in Kolkata remain unconfirmed.

MUMBAI/PUNE: The death toll from GBS in Maharashtra rose to nine Wednesday, with Mumbai reporting its first fatality and Pune adding another to its seven so far. The total caseload has also risen to 203.
A 53-year-old civic hospital employee in Mumbai succumbed to GBS-related complications after being hospitalised for nearly three weeks. He had visited Pune, a fortnight before being admitted to Nair Hospital. A 59-year-old man from Khadakwasla in Pune passed away at Navale Hospital just hours after admission.
Assam and Tamil Nadu have also reported one GBS death each, while two suspected fatalities in Kolkata last month remain unconfirmed.
