Karnataka ByPolls Election Results: Congress wins Sandur, Shiggaon, and Channapatna seats

NEW DELHI: Indian National Congress won all three seats-- Sandur, Shiggaon, and Channapatna.

C P Yogeshwara won the Channapatna by-polls, E Annapoorna claimed victory in Sandur and Pathan Yasirahmedkhan in Shiggaon.

E Annapoorna won from the Sandur assembly seat against BJP Bangaru Hanumantappa. She won with close to 10,000 votes of majority.

Congress's Yasir Ahmed Khan defeated BJP's Bharat Bommai, the son of former Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai. Bommai is defeated with over 13,000 votes in Shiggaon where his father won in 2023 assembly elections.

Polling, held on November 13, saw an impressive voter turnout of 88.81% in Channapatna, highlighting the constituency’s significance. Actor Nikhil Kumaraswamy’s campaign has drawn attention due to his family’s political legacy and the JD(S)'s stakes in the region. On the other hand, Yogeshwara, also an actor-turned-politician, switched to the Congress from the BJP before his nomination, bringing added drama to this contest.

As vote counting progresses, Channapatna remains a focal point, with its outcome poised to influence Karnataka's political landscape. Updates are awaited as the battle intensifies.

Sandur Assembly seat can be classified as: Rural. The reservation status of this seat is: Scheduled Tribe. Sandur is part of the 9. Bellary (Scheduled Tribe) Lok Sabha constituency. There are a total of 224 seats in the Karnataka state Assembly.
