The IAF carried out precision strikes in four locations within Pakistan's territory, while five targets were situated in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir. According to the ministry of defence, the operation was "focused, measured and non-escalatory" and avoided any Pakistani military facilities.
"These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered," the Defence Ministry said in the statement.
"We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable," it said.
