Start a vertical garden

A simple and budget-friendly way to transform the space is by adding a vertical garden. It will save space, the vertical plants will look super unique, and you can add different flowers, herbs, and plants in the same space.

Floor cushions with old fabric

If you would like to transform the space on a budget, it will be great to reuse old things. If you have old bedsheets lying around, or tablecloths that are not in use anymore, repurpose them to make them into cushion covers.

String lights and glass jars

One of the easiest ways to breathe life into a space is by adding lights. Fairy lights, string lights, or LEDs can change the space, and if you use them inside old, glass bottles, it will save money too.

Paint on old canvases

An amazing DIY decor idea is to paint on old canvases or paper and then frame your art on the balcony walls. This decor is practically free and can be a great way to spend your free time.

Old sheets to use

Canopies are all the rage right now, and the shade and look they give looks so aesthetic too. So, if you don't want to invest in a permanent canopy, put the old sheets to use! Pick out some bright-coloured but worn-down bedsheets, and hang it in a way that it will cover a space.

A terrarium

While some people feel terrariums are expensive, apart from the jar there is nothing you would have to buy. Get some sand from the nearby gardens, get cuttings of a plant from nature, stones can be found on the roads, and altogether it will be the perfect decor piece.

DIY plant pots

To add plants to the balcony, don’t go about purchasing new baskets or hanging pots. Instead, reuse old water bottles, egg cartons, wine bottles, and the likes to keep the decor within budget.

Grass rugs

If you decide to give the balcony a more ‘natural’ feel, add in a fake grass rug. Grass rugs are pretty cheap when bought in wholesale markets, and will keep the floor clean and low-maintenance.

Pebble mats

You must have seen videos of people walking over pebbles, big and small, to relieve stress and pressure. And you too can add it to your balcony and DIY it easily. When you go on your morning walk, pick out pebbles and stones (non-sharp) and then glue them to rugs.

Mirrors and placement

If you think your balcony is very small, and feels crammed, try placing a large mirror somewhere which will create an illusion of space.
