NEW DELHI: New Zealand secured a
historic Test victory in India, their first since 1988, by successfully chasing a challenging target in difficult conditions on the final day of the first Test in Bengaluru on Sunday.
The win marked only their third triumph on Indian soil in nearly seven decades.
India were bowled out for a meager 46 in the first innings, their lowest total at home, to which New Zealand responded with a commanding 402. Despite India's improved performance in the second innings, scoring 462, New Zealand's bowlers set the stage for a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
