Star New Zealand cricketer Kane Williamson has signed to play for Middlesex and London Spirit in 2025. He will participate in at least five County Championship games, ten T20 Blast matches, and lead London Spirit in The Hundred. Williamson, who has played for Gloucestershire and Yorkshire before, expressed his excitement about returning to play at Lord's.

NEW DELHI: New Zealand batting maestro Kane Williamson has signed a joint contract to play for English county side Middlesex and The Hundred franchise London Spirit in the 2025 season.
Williamson, the Black Caps’ all-time leading run-scorer, will be a key figure for the two Lord’s-based teams, featuring extensively across formats. He is set to play at least five County Championship matches for Middlesex, along with 10 T20 Blast games, before leading London Spirit in The Hundred.

The 34-year-old has prior experience in English county cricket, having represented Gloucestershire and Yorkshire in the past.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Williamson highlighted his admiration for Lord’s and the opportunity to spend time in the UK with his family.
"Our international schedule allows for a bit of a break during the English summer, and I was keen to come over with my family. When this opportunity came up, it was an exciting prospect," Williamson said.

"The Home of Cricket is one of my favourite grounds in the world. I've had so many incredible moments there. Every player holds Lord’s in the highest regard. They’ve maintained the tradition of playing there, which makes it truly unique."

With his wealth of experience and leadership, Williamson's presence is set to be a major boost for both Middlesex and London Spirit in the upcoming season.
