MUMBAI: The Mumbai Cricket Association will honour veteran cricket administrator Prof Ratnakar Shetty with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award for Administration' at its annual prize distribution function on Thursday evening at the MCA's Sharad Pawar Indoor Academy Ground in BKC. Once the secretary of the MCA, Shetty served for a long time as a senior administration staffer at the BCCI later. The MCA will also honour its ex-secretary Pravin Barve, founder member of Bandra's MIG Club, with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award for Administration, acknowledging "his dedicated service to Mumbai cricket."

The MCA will honour former India captains-Dilip Vengsarkar (men) and Diana Edulji (women's) with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' too. The MCA will give awards for two seasons-2022-23 & 2023-24. India's Test opener Yashasvi Jaiswal will receive the award for 'Best Senior Cricketer of the Year 2022-23' while Sarfaraz Khan will receive the award for the Best Ranji Trophy Cricketer of the Year for that season. For the 2023-24 season, seamer Mohit Avasthi will receive the 'Best Senior Cricketer of the Year' award, while off-spinning allrounder Tanush Kotian will receive the award for the Best Ranji Trophy Cricketer of the Year.
