Liverpool has officially been crowned the 2024-25 Premier League champions, marking their second title in the modern Premier League era. After a thrilling 5-1 victory over Tottenham, they have secured the league crown, but the highly anticipated moment when the trophy is lifted at Anfield will come later in the season.

The Triumph Under Arne Slot

Arne Slot has made an impressive impact in his first season as Liverpool manager, joining a prestigious group of only five managers in Premier League history to win the title in their debut campaign. His achievement puts him in the company of legendary figures like Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti. Slot’s arrival at Anfield, following the departure of Jurgen Klopp, was met with some skepticism, as many pundits predicted the Reds would struggle to finish in the top four. However, Liverpool has proved them wrong, clinching the title with a few games to spare.
This victory also brings Liverpool level with their historic rivals Manchester United on 20 league titles, with younger supporters particularly thrilled to witness such a monumental achievement. While this is only the second Premier League title for Liverpool, it has special significance, especially considering their last title win was during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, which saw the trophy presented in front of empty stands.

The 5-1 Victory Over Tottenham

Liverpool’s title-clinching match against Tottenham was an unforgettable spectacle. Spurs initially took the lead with a Dominic Solanke header early in the game, but Liverpool quickly responded with a powerful display. The Reds not only overturned the deficit but dominated the match, securing a resounding 5-1 win. The atmosphere at Anfield was electric, with the famous 'You'll Never Walk Alone' anthem echoing through the stadium as the players celebrated their success.
However, while the victory was a moment to remember, fans will have to wait until the final home game of the season for the trophy presentation. Liverpool’s official trophy lift will take place after their match against Crystal Palace on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

When will Liverpool lift the Premier League trophy?

As per Premier League tradition, the trophy is presented on the final home match of the season, not when the title is mathematically secured. This means that while Liverpool has already sealed the title, the official ceremony will happen on the last day of the season, when they face Crystal Palace at Anfield. The match is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm BST, with the trophy presentation taking place shortly after the final whistle.
During the ceremony, up to 40 commemorative medals will be distributed to the players and staff. Any player who has made at least five appearances in the Premier League this season will receive one. The presentation will also coincide with the awarding of individual honors, such as the Golden Boot and Playmaker of the Season, if any Liverpool player wins them.

The Parade and Klopp's Return

Following the trophy lift, Liverpool fans can expect a grand parade to celebrate the Premier League triumph. The parade will coincide with the UK’s late May bank holiday, and it promises to be a joyous occasion for the Reds’ faithful. Liverpool supporters will be hoping for another memorable procession similar to the one in 2019, when the team won the Champions League, and the subsequent FA Cup and Carabao Cup victories in 2022.
Additionally, former manager Jurgen Klopp, who remains an ambassador for the club, is set to return to Merseyside for a special event on Friday, May 23. He will appear as a guest speaker at the LFC Foundation gala dinner, just two days before Liverpool’s final match of the season. While Klopp will not be in charge for the title celebrations, his return will add another layer of significance to the occasion.

A Moment for Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has expressed his excitement about the upcoming trophy presentation, revealing how much it means to him to lift the title with the club he loves. "I would love to lift the cup with the club I love so much. If it doesn't happen on Wednesday, then we have the opportunity to do it on Sunday in front of our own fans at a red Anfield. It will be special, that is for sure," said Van Dijk.
For the fans, the trophy presentation at Anfield will mark the culmination of a season of dominance. Though the final few matches won’t impact the league standings, the celebrations will be an unforgettable celebration of Liverpool's remarkable achievement under Arne Slot.
