Alex Bregman slammed by fans as they appreciate Jose Altuve’s offer to move positions for his return to Astros

Alex Bregman, the star player of his former team, the Houston Astros, has remained a free agent even though the Spring Training will begin soon. While there are strong rumours of Alex joining the Houston Astros even after he rejected their $156 million deal for six years, many fans are worried about Alex playing out of position if he ends up joining the team at the end. But turns out, Alex’s long time teammate Jose Altuve has spoken about changing his position if it means Alex Bregman will come back.


Recently, Jose Altuve shocked everyone as he spoke about moving to Left Field if it meant Alex will come back. As per the Athletic, he will “do whatever” for Alex Bregman since he is “one of the best players in the whole league and he’s definitely one of the best players on the team.”
Jose Altuve also hinted at the team’s emotion as he added that the team wants him to stay so he is ready to do “whatever I have to do for him to stay, I’m willing to do it.”
Sports anchor of KPRC 2 Houston, Ari Alexander reshared Jose’s words on X and fans are in awe of Jose Altuve’s attitude and humbleness. A fan took to X and wrote, “Baseball is romantic. Altuve is a leader and Bregman knows he is appreciated and respected here. Be an Astro for life!”

Another fan appreciated Jose Altuve but also spoke about how there are better players in the MLB than Alex Bregman. The fan wrote, “Altuve is my fave all time player, but I don’t understand why it’s important to him Alex stays on team, Paredes who is 5 yrs younger is just as good offensively as Bregman, his $6.6M salary in 2025 is a fraction of $26M-$30M that Bregman will get per season in new long term deal.”
Another fan slammed Alex Bregman for rejecting a fair deal from the Houston Astros. The fan wrote, Re-negotiate his contract? Whatever it takes. @nfl players do it all the time. Many experts and MLB insiders believe at the end of the day, Alex Bregman will be returning to the Houston Astros since he still remains a free agent. As per MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart, Dana Brown, the GM of the Astros recently spoke about Alex at the Houston Astros FanFest.
She has spoken about how there are conversations happening within the team since Alex is still a free agent.
While nothing has been confirmed yet and Alex Bregman has not issued a statement about his situation with the Houston Astros.
