WWE Backlash 2025 is set to be the next Premium Live Event for the company after capping off a highly successful WrestleMania 41. The show will take place on May 10 at at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri and will be headlined by the mega showdown between iconic WWE rivals, John Cena and Randy Orton.
The Cenation Leader dethroned Cody Rhodes at the Show of Shows and won his 17th World Championship. However, Cena’s ruthless celebrations were interrupted by an RKO from his iconic foe, Randy Orton, on the following RAW. The duo again met on SmackDown and had a heated exchange, which led to their title match being official for WWE Backlash. With only weeks left before they collide for the last time, here are the three possible finishes that can happen in Randy Orton vs John Cena match:

3. John Cena gets another assist to beat Randy Orton

The world saw John Cena win his 17th WWE title at WrestleMania 41. However, it was in a way that fans never expected it to go down. Cena got the help of popular rapper Travis Scott, who played a major part in helping him defeat Cody Rhodes. The Last Real Champion could enlist another ally or perhaps, Travis Scott himself, to once again help him and retain his title against Randy Orton in enemy territory.

2. Randy Orton wins his 15th World Championship in a twist

Randy Orton will walk into WWE Backlash with a huge advantage for his match against John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The bout will take place in his hometown of St.Louis, Missouri, with fans expected to be on the Viper’s side in favor of the heel John Cena. Moreover, there is no denying that Orton is physically better and in-ring shape than Cena, which could be a decisive factor. All this could lead to WWE’s Apex Predator dethroning his rival and winning his 15th World Championship to one of the loudest pops by the fans.

1. John Cena embarrasses Randy Orton in his hometown

John Cena has made everything about himself and has resorted to every underhanded tactic in the book to win. He did the same to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 and might already have a plan laid out to tackle the threat Randy Orton posses. Cena could once again use some dirty tactics such as using a foreign weapon or even causing a DQ finish to deny Orton a huge title win in his hometown and embarrass him to end the match.
