A Noida-based salon home service startup, YesMadam, has come under fire for allegedly terminating around 100 employees. The controversy erupted after reports claimed these layoffs targeted employees who disclosed work-related stress during an internal survey. The matter gained traction when Shitiz Dogra, Associate Director of Digital Marketing at IndiGo, shared a screenshot of an email reportedly sent by YesMadam’s HR department announcing the terminations on LinkedIn. While the post has stirred debate online, the authenticity of the email has not been independently verified by the TOI tech desk.

In the caption of the LinkedIn post, Dogra wrote: “Can an organization fire you for being stressed? Looks like it just happened at a startup - YesMadam. Employees have received a termination email from the HR with a weird explanation citing stress. Terribly stressful and disturbing news. What's happening Yes Madam??? ”

The screenshot shared on LinkedIn showed that the alleged mail was shared by YesMadam’s HR Manager Ashu Arora Jha. In the leaked letter, Jha wrote:

"Recently, we conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress at work. Many of you shared your concerns, which we deeply value and respect. As a company committed to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment, we have carefully considered the feedback. To ensure that no one remains stressed at work, we have made the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress. This decision is effective immediately, and impacted employees will receive further details separately. Thank you for your contributions.”
