In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, the game continues with IIM Bengaluru student Ishanjali Madaan. She shared how she helped school-going students’ parents earn extra income during the Covid-19 pandemic when many were struggling financially. She created a community titled ‘You Inspire.’
She explained, “I built a family of almost 370 students. I earned nearly Rs 3.5 lakh in a year. I funded my tuition fees, my sister’s tuition, and also bought a laptop. I even helped my family with household expenses during that time.”
Ishanjali correctly answered the Super Sawaal and won the Dugnaastra lifeline. Big B praised her determination, advising all contestants, “Whatever they are doing, they should do it with determination and honesty.”
The contestant also spoke about creating her own cosmetics brand and earning from it. She used the Audience Poll lifeline for a Rs 1,60,000 image-based question and correctly went with the chosen option. She then used the Dugnaastra lifeline for the Rs 3,20,000 question and won the bonus amount as well.
In the Super Sandook round, she won Rs 70,000 and chose to keep it in the bank. Amitabh Bachchan remarked, “You are the first contestant to ask for it to be kept in the bank instead of reviving any lifeline. It might come in handy for the later questions.”
She used the Double Dip lifeline for the Rs 12,50,000 question and answered it correctly. She also used her last lifeline for the Rs 25 lakh question.
Her question for Rs 50 lakh was: In which event did the co-founder of the modern Olympics, Pierre de Coubertin, win a gold medal at the 1912 Olympics? A. Architecture, B. Music, C. Literature, D. Painting.
Despite logically considering the answer, she decided to quit the game. However, before leaving, she guessed option C—Literature—and it turned out to be correct.
Speaking about her plans for the prize money, Ishanjali shared, “I have a Rs 28 lakh loan, and I have won almost the same amount. I would like to invest in my business to generate more employment. Since completing my 12th grade, I haven’t taken money from home.”
The episode was a rollercoaster of emotions, showcasing Ishanjali’s intelligence, strategic decisions, and inspiring journey.
