Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Contestant Ritika Singh explains Amitabh Bachchan the Gen-Z dating terms 'bread crumbing', 'benching'; the host says 'Ye aaj Kal ki Pidhi...'

The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 starts with rollover contestant Ritika Kumari from New Delhi, who works as a healthcare journalist and anchor.. Upon learning about her profession, host Amitabh Bachchan gets up from his seat and greets her with folded hands. He says, "Aap ek journalist hai, jhuk ke pranaam karta hoon aapko, journalsit ka bahut aadar karna padta hai bhaisahab, inke upar humara jeevan joh rehta hai woh nirbhar rehta hai." This makes the latter blush. She shares she focusses on healthcare journalism.

Moving ahead in the show, Big B presents the question for Rs 10,000. For what purpose are the boxes in the image used for? Ritika selects the correct answer Option D) Election.
After correctly answering the next few questions, Ritika faces the question for 'Super Sawaal' but she fails to use the opportunity as she incorrectly answers the question. Which instruments are Ustad Vilayat Khan and Niladri Kumar most popularly know for? The correct answer was: Sitar
Next we see Ritika and Mr Bachchan talking about her hobbies. She shares that she watches television over the weekend. Ritika reveals she has many hobbies but one of them is that she loves giving advise to her friends. She says, "I love giving advise to my friends especially related to relationship because as we all are aware that today's youth faces lot of issues. Jaise aaj kal Benching, Ghosting, breadcrumbing chal raha hai.. sir."
Big B, who is unaware of these Gen-z dating terms, hilariously asks Ritika, "Breadcrumbing matlab Roti Khana?" He leaves everyone in splits of laughter.
Ritika goes on to explain the host, "Sir breadcrumbing matlab ye hota hai ki ladka ladki ko hint deta hai, ladki ladke ko hint deti hai.. but they don't commit that they are in a relationship." Mr Bachchan looks at her completely surprised. He asks, "Usko breadcrumbing bolte hain. Just jananna chahte hain, humari umra toh nikal gayi iske liye. Agar humko kabhi avsar mila toh kya bolenge hum, Ae aap delvis bread khayengi kya?" The entire audience bursts into laughter.
She further shares, "Sir the Gen-z keeps coming up with new terms and nobody can normally decode it." He requests her to explain him the few other terms and Ritika shares the what terms like Ghosting, Situationships are. She says, "Sir ghosting matlab ignore karna... jaise aap mere friend hain.. aap mujhe message kar rahe hain, but I am continuously ignoring you. Then comes situationship, we both are in a relationship but we both are not publicly not committed towards each other. Last one is Benching which means jaise bench hoti hai lambi, aap aur main baithe hain, aur wahan ek aur ladka baitha hai, like Abhishek Bachchan. So, sir main aapke saath toh hoon, par mera backup plan Abhishek Bachchan hai.."
Mr Bachchan smiles and says, "Accha but mujhe batayiye Benching kiske liye use hota hai... Male or female?" Ritika reveals that it is used for both and he can have her on one side as a GF and on one side his wife Jaya Bachchan.
Big B humourously asks her what about his backup plan. She advises him to do Benching. The host cracks a hilarious joke, "Toh udhar toh jagah nahi hai bench bahut chota hai." He bursts out laughing. He says he fails to understand this new generation. He folds his hands and tells Ritika's parents, "Bhaisahab, aap kaise inko nibhate hain apne ghar par, Mataji toh abhi bahut prasann lag rahi hai... jis din benching wenching hogaya toh sab nikal jaayega...(laughs) Pagal kar diya aapne humko Deviji."

He narrates funny stories how he sometimes doesn't remember people's name. The megastar shares a humorous anecdote about Shashi Kapoor, revealing a quirky habit of his. He says that whenever Shashi Kapoor forgot someone's name, he would simply walk up to them and introduce himself by saying, "Hi, my name is Shashi Kapoor," as a playful way to cover it up.
