Agartala: Tripura industries dept signed an MoA with Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) in the presence of CM Manik Saha on Wednesday to upgrade and modernise 19 govt-run ITIs of the state.
Saha said, “The initiative aims to bridge the skill gap in emerging technologies by modernising training facilities, introducing advanced courses, and significantly enhancing the employability of ITI graduates. Designed to align with industry 4.0 standards and the evolving global technology landscape, the programme aspires to establish these ITIs as state-of-the-art centres of excellence.”
TTL will lead the ITI transformation by integrating cutting-edge equipment such as CNC machines, AR/VR tools, industrial automation systems and electric vehicle diagnostic kits. Certificates will be co-issued by the govt and TTL, along with its partner industries, offering students a competitive edge in the job market. Saha said TTL will provide technical support and trainer deployment for three years, ensuring seamless adoption of new technologies and methodologies. The collaboration will also help establish specialised facilities like product design and development centre, EV training centre and advanced machining and manufacturing centre, equipped with tools like 3D printers and robotic simulations.
Industries secretary Kiran Gitte said, “Courses in high-demand sectors such as EV mechanics, automation, IoT technology and CNC operations will be offered as part of the collaboration.”
