AHMEDABAD: Many couples in the city who were expecting a child later this month went out of their way to get a perfect 10 baby, born on 10.10.2010. But Sangeeta Baria was just destined to have hers on the day. She was to deliver her child on November 10, but she got labours early. It was sheer coincidence that her daughter was born a month earlier on 10.10.2010, at 10 am.
"A caretaker at a derasar, Sangeeta had no idea about the fad and the fact that many couples planned the baby so that it would be born on the day.

When we told her about it, she was very happy," said Dr Neelam Shah, a gynaecologist in Vasna. "She said it would easy to remember the birth date of her special little girl," Shah added.
Incidentally, Dr Shah also helped Rani Prajapati deliver her daughter at the same time with the help of a senior nurse. Rani sells paani-puri. She and Sangeeta went into labour at the same time. and their girls were also born around the same time .
But there were also those who didn`t mind undergoing a cesarean to get their bundle of joy on this special day. In Isanpur, Avani and Nishith Shah had their daughter delivered at 10 am and 10 seconds on October 10, weighing 10 pounds!
"She is probably the most perfect 10 child born on the day," said Dr Jignesh Shah who had a busy day operating throughout Sunday because she acceded to the wishes of couples who wanted their child delivered on a specific day and time.
"Of the ten couples who wanted their babies on October 10, we helped deliver eight. Two had to be operated on Saturday after they got pains and needed intervention," said Dr Shah.
Dr Shah had an interesting point to make when he said that the date brought together people from all castes and religions. "This date was very special. I had a Muslim couple, a Patel couple, one Darbar, one Rabari and one Brahmin," Dr Shah observed. In Shahibaug, Dr Jayesh Shah helped deliver the child of Jyoti Jain whose delivery date was due on October 8, but she insisted that she wanted to have her child on October 10.
