Three phones stolen inside stadium

Even with thousands of police personnel deployed at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera for the IPL match, thieves seem to be having a field day. Three mobile phone thefts were reported at the stadium, which has the highest seating capacity for a cricket venue in the world, on Sunday evening.

AHMEDABAD: Even with thousands of police personnel deployed at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera for the IPL match, thieves seem to be having a field day. Three mobile phone thefts were reported at the stadium, which has the highest seating capacity for a cricket venue in the world, on Sunday evening.
A sari trader from Adajan in Surat, Abhi Karya, 23, said he had gone to watch the final between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday evening when someone stole his Rs 35,000 phone.

The final match of IPL 2023 was supposed to be played between CSK and GT on Sunday but had to be rescheduled for Monday due to rain.
In another complaint filed at Chandkheda police station, Rajesh Tiwari, 37, a resident of Vejalpur who works for a pharmaceuticals company, said that his phone, worth Rs 40,000, was stolen near a food stall inside the stadium.
A South Bopal resident, Ishan Malhotra, 34, who works for a private firm, also lost his phone, worth Rs 35,000, near a food stall inside the stadium.
Another South Bopal resident, named Rahul Gandhi, 19, a BCom student, in his FIR with Chandkheda police said that his Rs 40,000 phone was stolen inside the Motera metro station when he was walking through a crowded passage. Gandhi was also going to the Narendra Modi Stadium when the theft took place.
Chandkheda police registered four cases of theft and began an investigation.
