SHO in dock for throwing fruit baskets on ground

Prayagraj: Superintendent of police, Kaushambi, Brijesh Srivastava suspended station house officer (SHO) of Saini police station, Subhash Chaurasia, late Thursday after a video of the SHO throwing fruit baskets of a fruit vendor on ground went viral on social media on July 26.
The SP told TOI that the SHO was found guilty in a probe conducted by an ASP-rank officer and suspended for dereliction of duty.
He added, “The ASP-rank officer is probing the incident. The SHO had asked the fruit vendor not to encroach upon the route due to Muharram processions. When he noticed fruit baskets being placed on the route during routine patrolling , he lost his cool and threw some fruit baskets on the ground. An unknown man made a video of the incident and made it viral on social media.”
The SP on Friday appointed sub-inspector Chandra Bhushan Maurya as the SHO of Saini police station.
