Andhra Pradesh: Chittoor police seize 14kg ganja, four smugglers arrested

TIRUPATI: Chittoor police arrested a notorious ganja smuggler along with his three other accomplices and seized 14 kgs of prohibited Ganja substance from the possession of the accused on Wednesday.
According to Chittoor DSP N Sudhakar Reddy, Chittoor rural CI P Srinivasa Reddy who acted on credible information took four accused near the Varigipalli flyover bridge along the Tirupati-Bengaluru highway on Wednesday morning.
Police found out during the course of the enquiry that SK Sumathi belonging to Vijayawada purchased 14kg of ganja from one Eswara Rao at Tuni. She packed the Ganja in small portions in plastic covers and concealed them inside her burqa. She transported the prohibited substance on a bike to Chittoor, with the help of one T Prudhvi Raj.
Chittoor rural police who kept a tab on their movements, arrested SK Sumathi, T Prudhvi Raj, T Mohan Babu and T Mohan near the outskirts of the district headquarters early this morning.
