Nagari is an Assembly constituency located in the Rayalaseema region within the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Classified as a rural constituency with a general reservation status, Nagari is a significant seat in the state's political landscape. The constituency participated in Phase 1 of the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections on May 13, 2024, recording a voter turnout of 81.15%. The results of this election are scheduled to be announced on June 4, 2024.
The star candidates for the 2024 elections include R. K. Roja from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), Gali Bhanu Prakash from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and Pochareddy Rakesh Reddy from the Indian National Congress (INC).
In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Nagari also voted in Phase 1 on April 11, with the results declared on May 23. In that election, R. K. Roja of YSRCP emerged victorious, defeating Gali Bhanu Prakash of TDP by a margin of 2,708 votes, which constituted 1.6% of the total votes cast. Similarly, in the 2014 elections, R. K. Roja won the seat by a narrow margin, beating Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu of TDP by 858 votes, accounting for 0.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
