AURANGABAD: A jackal was caught by some youths in the heart of the city on Tuesday morning. The male jackal, around two years old, was spotted near the Central Naka and the youths captured it and handed it over to the Siddhartha Garden and Zoo authorities.
According to sources, the youths locked the animal in a car before taking it to the zoo. Sources also said that the jackal might have come from the nearby villages.
Zoo supervisor Sanjay Nandan said the jackal was brought in healthy condition.
"We have kept it in a cabin specially designed for jackals. We had three jackals in the zoo about two years ago but they all died," he said.
The zoo authorities have informed the forest officials about animal.
