The five-day comedy fest had workshops and performances by comics from across the country.
It’s been a tough week, what with all the hassles that came with demonetization. So, Bengalureans were all ready for a laugh when they turned up for the comedy festival that was held in the city recently. There were quite a few comics from the city, like Sundeep Rao, Sanjay Manaktala and Satish Perumal, who got people rolling in the aisles. There were also out-of-towners like Varun Thakur, Amit Tandon and Neville Shah, who took the stage and had people guffawing at their takes on middle-class Indians, the pitfalls of having children, and the fundamental differences between boys and girls, respectively.

The evening ended with a performance by Alien Chutney, which is fronted by Vir Das. The quintet got people singing along to their catchy track about instant noodles, grooving to a tune about how desis vacation in Goa, and headbanging to a metal-inspired song about Game of Thrones — and took the mickey out of a couple of audience members in between.
