Girish Karnad fractured his left forearm while shooting for a Kannada movie in Nelamangala near here on Tuesday.
'Pora' director and hero Amogh said the incident took place around 6.15pm when the climax was being shot for the film.
"The scene was being shot in the rain. Girish Karnad, who plays a home minister in the movie, was walking down the steps when he slipped and fell, injuring his left hand.
Since he had severe pain, he asked us to continue the shoot saying he would join us in five minutes. But we packed up," said Amogh. An American, Vallery, plays the role of Karnad's daughter in the movie.
Karnad has been admitted to Nova Medical Centre, Koramangala. Dr Goutam Kodaikal, senior consultant orthopedic surgeon, said, "We plan to fix the fracture tomorrow morning. He is stable and in good condition."
Amogh said that Karnad had given his callsheet till August 3. Heroine Vallery was also in the shot in Tuesday's shooting.
