Two-wheeler rider honks at jaywalker in Bengaluru, thrashed
Bengaluru: A 30-year-old man on his way back home on the night of April 15 was allegedly assaulted by half-a-dozen men for honking at a youth who suddenly crossed the road at Hosakerehalli Cross in Banashankari III Stage.
Kishore (name changed), a resident of Banashankari III Stage, told police the incident happened around 9.15pm. Kishore, a private firm employee, had fallen ill along with wife and only child. Kishore recovered a little and decided to leave his wife and child at his in-laws' house as they could take care of them.
After taking them to a hospital, Kishore hired an autorickshaw for his wife and child and asked the driver to drop them home. He was riding his two-wheeler when it started raining. When he reached Hosakerehalli Circle, a youth in his early 20s suddenly crossed the busy road in front of a wine store. In a bid to caution the pedestrian, Kishore honked at him. The youth stopped Kishore's vehicle and abused him. He alerted his friends near the wine store who rushed to the spot and assaulted Kishore. According to Kishore's complaint, they hit him on the head with his helmet, pushed to the road and kicked badly.
