Bengaluru: It is the right time for legislature and the judiciary to curb the menace of corruption which is more dangerous than the disease of cancer, Justice B Veerappa, senior judge of the high court, said on Wednesday.
He was replying to the farewell address organised by the chairman of
Karnataka State Bar Council (KSBC) on his superannuation.
“It (corruption) is a major obstacle for the growth of the country and the future generation.
We, the judges and lawyers, and staff of the entire judicial system should pledge to eliminate corruption. We should become a role model to other organs of the state. It is the right time for both lawyers and judges to instil confidence in the minds of the public and protect the majesty of this institution,” Justice Veerappa said.
Chief Justice
