Bhopal: Auto driver tries to drag 15-year-old in vehicle, booked

BHOPAL: A 15-year-old girl student of class 10 was allegedly stalked and dragged inside the autorickshaw in a desolated place by an autodriver on Thursday afternoon.
Police said that the survivor alleged that on Thursday around 1 pm, when she was waiting for a bus at a bus stop near her school, the accused auto driver Ravi, who is known to the survivor, approached her and asked to sit in the vehicle.
The survivor refused and boarded a bus. However, the accused Ravi followed the bus and as she alighted the bus at the stop and was walking towards her home in a desolated place, the accused stopped her and tried to drag her inside his vehicle.
Hearing her screams, a passer-by rushed to her help after which the accused fled the spot.
Subsequently a case was registered at Kolar police station under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act against the accused and further investigations are underway.
In yet another incident reported at Hanumanganj police station, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly being harassed by her uncle.
Investigating Officer SI Kanchan Rajput said that the survivor stated in her complaint that the accused uncle was harassing her for the past three years. She informed her aunt but she ignored it. On September 16 when he again sexually harassed the girl on finding alone in the house, the girl approached her sister and narrated the ordeal. After consulting with family members, the case was reported at Hanumanganj police station on Thursday.
SI Rajput said that the survivor has been residing with her uncle and aunt since she was in class 3. She tolerated the harassment for sometime but when the accused didn’t stop, she returned to reside with her mother.
In yet another incident a 33-year-old married woman alleged that she was molested by her neighbour on Thursday. Police said that on Thursday the accused called the survivor in the courtyard of her home and molested her.
