Bhopal/Jabalpur: A division bench of MP high court issued notices to respondents in a petition seeking court intervention to restrain the district education officer, Jabalpur, from construction of a temple on government land.
The petitioner Rajendra Gupta Guptan, who is an advocate, said that there is a corridor between the parking lot of Jabalpur bench of MP high court and gate no. 4 of the district court, Jabalpur, building. The district education officer, Jabalpur, is getting a temple built on this government land of the corridor. The temple is being constructed in front of the office of district education officer. Citing orders of Supreme Court and the high court, the petitioner said that government land can't be used for construction of a religious place.
