Rishab tops class XII in Bhopal

BHOPAL: Rishab Mittal of Rajeev Gandhi School topped the city schools in CBSE class XII exams, the result for which was declared on Monday. He scored 97.4% in the science stream. Two commerce students of St Joseph's Co-ed School, Nandita Masand and Rishab Gupta and one science student of Carmel Convent School, BHEL, Pragya Sharma shared the second spot with 97.2% each.

Delhi Public School's (DPS) Commerce student Dhruv Singh Chaudhry with 97% stood third in the city.
DPS students have secured next two ranks as well, according to information available with TOI. Science students Himanshi Yadav and Ashwin Vivek Kanhere scored 96.8% and 96.6%, respectively.
Rishab Mittal is son of MANIT associate professor in the energy department, Dr Arvind Mittal. Talking to TOI he attributes his success to not being on any social networking sites like Facebook. "This helps me concentrate better besides that fact that I put in 8-10 hours of focused studies every day. I also enjoy playing badminton and cricket," said Rishab, who scored 99 in maths, chemistry and computer subjects.
'Competitive best friends,' Rishab Gupta and Nandita Masand said group study helped. "We both have worked very hard along with Ratnapriya Shrivastava. All of us have scored very well," said Rishab, who wants to become an IAS officer as he wants to serve the society.
Both Rishab and Nandita want to study at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi, with B Com. Nandita however, wants to focus on her CA preparations. "I enjoy walking, cycling and meditation as it is important to do other things besides studying," she said.
"Attending classes in school is important as teachers in school are the most experienced," Rishab said.
Science student and joint second ranker Pragya Sharma always expected more than 95% in her boards. "I have my IIT JEE second round on June 2, which I'm confident of cracking," said Pragya, whose dream is to study in IIT-Mumbai.

Daughter of banker parents, Pragya also has cleared cut off for BITS-Pilani exam and wants to study computer science or electrical engineering.
Third ranked Dhruv Singh Chaudhry, son of income tax commissioner (TDS) Devinder Singh Chaudhry is also a Reiki master, having completed all levels. "Reiki helps me to stay calm and keeps me grounded. It has helped a lot in concentration and I practise it daily for 18 minutes," he said.
Both Himanshi Yadav and Ashwin Vivek Kanhere of DPS Bhopal are now holding their breath for IIT JEE on June 2. While Himanshi wants to study chemical engineering as she loves chemistry, Ashwin wants to pursue compute science engineering.
"I want to study in IIT-Delhi as it is close to my hometown Haryana," said Himanshi.
