Bhopal/Jabalpur: The MP high court has ruled that students should be permitted to enrol and appear for examinations at eight nursing colleges in Khargone and Barwani districts only after the institutions deposit the requisite clinical training fees.
A division bench of justices Sanjay Dwivedi and AK Paliwal gave the direction while disposing of a public interest litigation filed by Harsh Bhan Tiwari of Khandwa.
Tiwari alleged that a clinical fee was charged from nursing colleges for organising clinical training but 8 colleges from Khargone and Barwani have not deposited the clinical fees.
Counsel appearing for the state govt sought time to find out if the colleges referred to in the petition have deposited the clinical fee or not.
The HC bench, however, observed that the court was not interested to know whether the fee has been deposited or not but officials of health department and MP Nursing Registration Council should ensure that the fee was deposited by the colleges concerned, and only then students should be allowed to take admission there and appear in the exams.
