Bhopal: The
Railway Protection Force (RPF) has intensified efforts to safeguard women passengers, ensuring the safe travel of 15,599 women under "Operation Meri Saheli" in 2025.
The initiative, designed to raise awareness and offer real-time support, includes safety instructions, swift assistance, and constant monitoring of platforms and trains.
West Central Railway's RPF Commandant, Prashant Yadav said: "This campaign aims to ensure women travel securely and receive necessary support during emergencies."
Beyond "Operation Meri Saheli", the RPF conducts systematic monitoring of platforms and trains. Security staff use CCTV surveillance and dedicated assistance counters at key stations to enhance passenger trust.
The RPF has set up specialised assistance counters at principal stations to reinforce this initiative.
These counters operate with skilled staff providing direct support and direction. The assistance points maintain comprehensive documentation of occurrences and actions taken, enabling continuous improvement in security arrangements.
The force keeps records of women passengers' suggestions to enhance their services. They have launched a mobile application enabling live complaint tracking and safety notifications. The force regularly enhances its training curriculum to tackle new security issues and improve passenger protection.
