Women observe Sabitri Brata

Bhubaneswar: Women across Odisha on Monday celebrated Sabitri Brata, wishing long life of their spouses. Temples across the state witnessed a huge footfall of devotees as people could celebrate the occasion after two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sangeeta Sahu, a software engineer, said: “Since childhood, I saw my grandmother, mother and aunts observing the festival.Now I am married and following the tradition. Despite being a working professional, I love to observe the festival. I have taken a day’s leave for the occasion and pray for my husband’s wellbeing.” Social media was flooded with posts on Sabitri Brata. Many celebrities post their pictures after completing the rituals. Bhubaneswar MP Aparjita Sarangi, actor Barsha Priyadarshini and Archita Sahu shared their pictures on various social media platforms.
