Mohali: On average, 18 residents a day avail of citizen-centric services at their doorsteps in Mohali. The extended services now include driving licences, passport applications, police verifications, and tenant verification.
Since its inception in Dec 2023, over a total of 410 days, 7,411 citizen-centric service requests received through doorstep delivery (1076) have been processed within the timeline, said Mohali deputy commissioner Aashika Jain.
She said the doorstep delivery of citizen-centric services has expanded from 43 to 406. Except for e-stamp and Aadhaar card services, all Sewa Kendra services are available at home by dialing 1076.
Divulging details about the initiative taken by the governance reforms department of the Punjab government, DC Aashika Jain said in continuation of the existing 43 services started under the ‘Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwaar' scheme, the addition of 363 more citizen-centric services has allowed people to avail themselves of 406 services offered in Sewa Kendras at their doorsteps.
The new initiative has not only enabled citizens to avoid the hassle of visiting govt offices, but their documents have also been delivered directly to their homes.
